Educational Conference Leave/Stipend:

Residents must attend a conference, which will enhance their education. However, any money left after all expenses for your conference have been paid, can be used to purchase educational books and/or software for their IPAQ.
Meals: Monthly benefit for meals in the Hospital Cafeteria based on the On-Call Schedule
Uniforms: Lab coats provided and laundered free of charge
Insurance Coverage: Health Insurance; Dental Plan;
Prescription Plan; Malpractice Insurance; Long-term Disability.
Vacation:
PGY-1: 2 Weeks + 2 Personal Days
PGY-2: 3 Weeks + 2 Personal Days

PGY-5: 3 Weeks + 2 Personal Days
Sick Leave and Leave of Absence:
Paid sick leave of up to four weeks. Leave of absence after 3-month employment as outlined by GMEC policy.
Housing:
Modern and attractive housing is available for rental or purchase in multiple surrounding communities. On-call quarters with refrigerators and snacks provided while on duty. Housing provided in Philadelphia during off-site rotations.
Parental Leave:
Maternity, spousal and adoption leaves available as outlined in the GMEC policy.
Annual Book Allowance: $400
IPAQ hand-held computer purchased for all new residents. The IPAQ is used for resident reporting of their operative cases during their residency.
