
Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation at Easton Hospital offers patients a complete program for their personalized Cardiac and Pulmonary rehabilitation needs.
Patients benefit from individualized rehabilitation programs that meet the needs of their particular health care issues. Coupled with support groups and educational programs, patients are armed with the tools necessary to make appropriate life-style changes.
Our rehabilitation programs are supported by exercise physiologists, respiratory therapists and specially trained clinical professionals, who guide you every step of the way. All patients are encouraged to attend educational sessions on a variety of topics including nutrition, medical management, stress management and risk factor changes.
Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Services at Easton Hospital offers extended hours to accommodate our patients. Hours are:
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 7:30 a.m. — 5:30 p.m. |

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Program meets three days a week for one hour. An individualized program is created for each patient based on their needs and healthy history — a doctor’s prescription is needed to enter the program.
During rehabilitation, patients participate in three exercise sessions a week where you are carefully monitored. They learn how to slowly build tolerance for more strenuous exercise, increase your heart and lung endurance, gain flexibility and improve muscle strength.
To ensure that patient’s continue to make progress, the program includes a Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Maintenance Program that meets three times a week and is tailored to meet each patient’s needs and abilities.
The goal of our Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is to provide each patient with the tools they need for lifetime maintenance of healthier habits and attitudes.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) COPD is a name given to a group of diseases that limit the flow of air in and out of your lungs. COPD includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Long-time cigarette smoking is the most common cause of COPD. |
Chronic pulmonary disease, which causes shortness of breath and the inability to perform everyday activities, can be debilitating. Pulmonary disease often leads to a sedentary lifestyle that can result in deterioration of the body’s muscles.
The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program meets 2 days a week for one hour where patients are carefully monitored at all times. A personalized program is created for each patient based on their needs and healthy history.

To ensure that patients continue to make progress you’ve made so far, they are encouraged to participate in our Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Maintenance Program which meets 3 times a week. This program is also tailored to meet each patient’s needs and abilities.
The program’s goal is to provide our patients with the tools they need for lifetime maintenance of healthier habits and attitudes.

Support Services
Support Groups
Continued support from family, friends and others who share the same health issues can help patients stay on course with their rehabilitation and provides them the opportunity to learn more about their disease. Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation at Easton Hospital offers two support groups to meet the needs of our patients.
Living Your Life with Cardiac Disease
Meets the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at Easton Hospital
Living Your Life with Pulmonary Disease
Meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at Easton Hospital
A light, healthy dinner is served at each meeting. Several times a year, physicians and other guest speakers present updated health information at support group meetings.
