Easton Hospital Announces
2011 Patient Choice Awards Winners
Easton, PA (June 28, 2011) In May, Easton Hospital sponsored the annual Patient Choice Awards which recognizes the quality care, comfort and compassion provided by the nurses at the Hospital. Nominations are submitted by patients and their loved ones who offer testament about the care provided by an Easton Hospital nurse at some point during the last year. Easton Hospital’s Nursing Council reviews the nominations and votes on the winner.
This year, eighteen nurses were nominated by patients and, for the first time ever, two nurses were chosen as award recipients. The 2011 Patient Choice Award winners were Audrienne Jacoby, RN, Oncology, 3NS, and Gary Pieretti, RN, Emergency Department. Nominations revealed the level of commitment and care from both of these dedicated nurses.
Jacoby’s nomination noted, “My mother considered Audrey “her nurse,” not only because of her excellent clinical skills, but because she could feel the love, genuine care and compassion every time Audrey rendered care to her…Never will I forget her – she is and will always remain my inspiration, personal and professional as long as I live.” Pieretti’s nomination by a patient’s spouse stated, “Gary was one of my wife’s nurses. He immediately did all he could to learn about her case and was very prompt and professional with both of us. He made both of us feel at ease. His care gave her a renewed sense of confidence that she still talks about eight months later. We all appreciate Gary and are proud to nominate him.”
A reception was held June 15 to announce the winners and honor all the Patient Choice Award nominees for the commitment to delivering quality, compassionate patient care.
