Easton Hospital Receives Bronze Performance Achievement Award
Easton, Pa (March 23, 2012) Easton Hospital received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines®—Heart Failure Bronze Performance Achievement Award. This recognition signifies that the Hospital has reached the aggressive goal of treating heart failure patients for at least 90 days with 85 percent compliance to core standard levels of care as outlined by the American Heart Association/ American College of Cardiology secondary prevention guidelines for heart failure patients.
This is the first step in Easton Hospital’s Get With The Guidelines® program, as the Hospital moves toward attaining silver and gold status.

Get With The Guidelines® is a quality improvement initiative that provides hospital staff with tools that follow proven evidence-based guidelines and procedures in caring for heart failure patients to prevent future hospitalizations. In accordance with these treatment guidelines, heart failure patients at Easton Hospital undergo assessment of heart function and receive counseling on smoking cessation, a heart-healthy diet, weight monitoring, recommendations for exercise level, discharge medications, and instructions on what to do if symptoms worsen, along with assistance scheduling follow-up appointments.
