Bariatric Surgery Information Session Scheduled for August 25
On Saturday, August 25, Easton Hospital will hold a Bariatric Surgery Information sessions beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Kroner Auditorium at Easton Hospital, 250 South 21st Street, Easton, Pa. Artun Aksade, MD, a fellowship-trained Bariatric Surgeon and Amanda Nyce, Bariatric Coordinator, will present on weight-loss surgery options available.
Dr. Aksade is board-certified in Surgery and is fellowship-trained in minimally invasive and Bariatric Surgery. He earned his medical degree from Hacettepe University and completed a Residency in Othopaedic Surgery at Dokuz Eylul University Hospital, Izmir, Turkey, and a Residency in General Surgery at Easton Hospital.
Easton Hospital’s Bariatric Weight-Loss Surgery Program has been designated as a “Center of Excellence” by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery – a status the hospital has held since 2007. To earn a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence designation, Easton Hospital has gone through an extensive approval process including a series of site inspections that closely examines all aspects of the program's surgical processes and data on health outcomes. The rigorous criteria for approval focuses on safety, proficiency and volume. Earning this designation recognizes that our Bariatric Surgery Program has a demonstrated track record of favorable outcomes.
