EASTON HOSPITAL ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP CHANGE

EASTON, PA. (April 2, 2009) – Easton Hospital CEO Angela Marchi has announced that she will be leaving the hospital. Marchi has accepted a corporate position with another healthcare company.  She will continue to serve as Easton Hospital CEO until an interim CEO is appointed.

“It’s with mixed emotions that I have made the decision to leave Easton Hospital,” said Marchi. “Although I am excited about the challenges that are before me professionally, it is also bittersweet as I leave behind a dynamic team. It has been a pleasure and privilege to lead this organization.  We have demonstrated strength among our dedicated board members, staff and physicians.  I am proud of what we have accomplished over the last few years and know the system’s success will continue well into the future.”

Some of Marchi’s accomplishments since she became CEO include: a renewed focus on service excellence and quality which has lead to decreased turnaround times in the emergency department and improved core measures scores; the addition of new physicians; a decrease in contract labor; and technological enhancements with the addition of new anesthesia equipment, a new interventional radiology suite, and soon to open private rooms on the fourth floor. Most recently, Easton Hospital opened Priority Care at Emrick, an urgent care center.
“Angie’s leadership has been tremendous and we respect her decision to further develop her professional capabilities” said Tom Muller, chair of the Easton Hospital Board of Trustees. “She has been instrumental in the growth and success of Easton Hospital and provided strong and visionary leadership. She will be sincerely missed and we wish her the best in her future endeavors.”
Due diligence is currently being conducted to determine an interim CEO.  A search for a new administrator will begin soon, and board and medical staff leadership will be involved in the selection of the new chief executive.
