ANGELA MARCHI NAMED NEW CEO FOR EASTON HOSPITAL
EASTON, PA; NOVEMBER 28, 2007-----Angela Marchi, FACHE, a hospital
administrator with 14 years of executive leadership experience, will assume the
dual roles of President and Chief Executive Officer at Easton Hospital effective
Monday, December 3rd.
A native of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Marchi comes to Easton from
Springs Memorial Hospital (SMH) in Lancaster, South Carolina where she has been
CEO since August 2006. Prior to her appointment at SMH, she was the CEO at
Salem Hospital in Salem, NJ. Both facilities are part of the Community
Health Systems (CHS) network of hospitals.
Before joining CHS, Marchi was affiliated with Ardent Health
Services, where she was named CEO of the Year in 2004. In addition, the
hospital she led was Ardent’s Hospital of the Year in 2005.
Marchi, who began her career as a registered nurse, is a 27-year
healthcare veteran. Discussing her new position, she said, “I am delighted
to be back in Pennsylvania and working with a hospital that has accomplished so
much in such a short time. I am looking forward to building on Easton’s
prior accomplishments and becoming an integral part of the Lehigh Valley
community.”
Thomas Muller, chair of the Easton Hospital Board of Trustees,
said, “We are impressed with Angie’s accomplishments and with her dynamic
approach to leadership. I have no doubt that Easton Hospital will benefit
from her limitless energy and commitment to excellence.”
Easton Hospital
is a 369-bed, acute care teaching hospital serving more than 300,000 residents
in Northampton County and the five surrounding counties in Pennsylvania and New
Jersey. Founded in 1890, the Hospital has recently undergone extensive
renovation and maintains free-standing, fully-accredited residency training
programs, an Emergency Department with 35,000 annual visits, and an active
cardiac surgery program. The Hospital’s Eastern Regional Cancer Center is
a Fox Chase Cancer Center Partner and one of three facilities in Pennsylvania
offering TomoTherapy radiation treatment for cancer.
